(KSLA) — Dry conditions due to a lack of adequate rainfall are increasing the danger of fire. As a result, ArkLaTex parishes and counties are beginning to ban outdoor burning.

LOUISIANA (statewide, issued Aug. 7)

  • Hempstead (issued Aug. 21)
  • Lafayette (issued Aug. 21)
  • Miller (issued Aug. 15)
  • Sevier (issued Aug. 23)

TEXAS

  • Bowie (issued Aug. 15; remains in effect for 90 days)
  • Cass (issued Aug. 9)
  • Harrison (issued Aug. 7; remains in effect 90 days)
  • Marion (issued Aug. 7)
  • Morris (issued Aug. 14; ban not to exceed 90 days)
  • Panola (issued July 27)
  • Shelby (issued July 24)
